Today Is the Day [Oct. 22nd, 2004|08:52 am]
Mike
Or at least it should be, the day that I find out if I am one of the ones that gets laid off.

Our Director of Finance is meeting with the VP, Reservations right now to go over the 2005 budget.

It could be an interesting day at the office.

Honestly, I have seriously thought about it. Being laid off would be a disaster financially, but looking back on everything else that happens with this place, the financial issue isnt as big of a deal.

Besides, if I do get laid off, I can then call my parents who are die-hard Republicans, and tell them that W's economy cost me my job.
Short story:
When Tom Ridge was governor of PA, my Dad attended a Republican committee meeting where Ridge was speaking. Ridge was going on and on about how well the economy was in PA and how great everything was in PA. My Dad looked at him and asked him point blank "If the job market is so great here in PA and the economy is great, then why did my son have to move 1500 miles away to get a decent paying job" Dad said that the room got mightly quiet after that

And I'm sure the song and dance ensued after the question. Anyway, I hope it works out in a way that's best for your. Wouldn't wanna see you be put through turmoil (well, nonsexual turmoil, anyway.) :)
