Sorry to say that not much has been going on lately. Went to 2 Christmas parties this weekend.|
Party #1 was at a friend of a friend's place. It was a fun time. We had a white elephant ornament exchange. Dad ended up with a hand painted figurine of a little girl. I ended up with a multi-colored sequin picture frame oranament, which will be re-gifted and used at another party. Luckily, someone stole the stuffed red velvet with gold trimming ornaments that I originally got. Other ornaments exchanged were a glad cowgirl, a flying pig, 4 blue balls with gold trim, an ornament that sang "Rocking Around the Christmas Tree" and a few others.
Party #2 was the Discipline Corp's annual Christmas party. Since we had to cancel the dungeon party, we held the Christmas party in the afternoon. Dungeon party was cancelled this month due to DCAL not having their certificate of occupancy yet and nowhere else for us to beat on one another this time. The gift that I took was something that I had received last year-straight porn. I ended up bringing home 3 small stuffed animals. Dad ended up with a toy truck, which we passed to the Leather Knights for their toy drive.
Last night I sent out the invites to our Christmas Eve party. Last year, we wanted a small party and only invited 8 of our closest friends. This year, we expanded the number to 20 people. Only 2 have declined so far. With Dad working long hours at FedEx Kinko's, guess who is stuck with the party planning, food, etc? That would be me. So right now, I'm working on appetizers and finger foods for the party. Beverages are already taken care of. I'm making a non-alcoholic holiday punch and egg nog. Planning on getting some wine and mixers for cocktails. I will have some alcohol on hand, but since our friends drink several different type of alcohol, I thought it would be best if they just brought their own and I supplied the mixers. I've started to make a list of things that need to be done before the party, including cleaning the house, cleaning the pool and hottub, buying small token gifts for our guests, some type of party games, etc. The next few weeks are going to be busy for me.
If things seem to go well this year, I hope to be able to include more people next year. I used to love to entertain family and friends at home. Now that we have our own place, I get that opportunity.
Other than that, work is the same. Still reporting problems and problems with the system itself. One of these days, it'll work like its supposed to
