I'll post more on Inferno/Delta later when I have more time. My parents are in Dallas this week so we've been spending some time with them.|
Last night we went to the Mesquite Rodeo. All I kept thinking during it was "where are all the hot cowboys tonight?"
We started out at Trail Dust for dinner. When we got there, they told us that it would be a 45 minute wait. We were a little surprised when we got seated at all the empty tables around and found out that they werent using the second floor at all. It seems they had 4 waitstaff not show up for work. It was our waiter's second night on the job and he told us that he was supposed to be "shadowing" someone instead of actually waiting on customers. He did an ok job. Alot of things that happened werent his fault. He did the best he could under the circumstances. Of course, the manager was nowhere to be seen all night. Bill made the comment that if the manager had cross-trained some of the hostess to be waitstaff that they could have served more people. Why they needed 4 hostesses is beyond me. I do know of at least 7 potential tables that walked out because of the 45 minute wait. Being right next to the Rodeo arena, I'm sure the restaurant lost a couple thousand dollars last night.
The rodeo was a good time. There were some very ODD people there last night. The most amusing (or disgusting, depends on how you look at it) was Bill and I watching a lady in light blue pants (that were obviously too tight) and the wet spot from her sweat getting bigger and bigger every time she stood up. It was one of those things that I looked at Bill and said "I really dont need to see that". But like a car accident, we were strangely intrigued by it.
More on that later. Time to head to lunch with the folks.
