so i'm sitting here at working trying to understand people.
we just caught another sales agent booking false reservations in order to boost his incentive. this particular agent happens to an associate of mine. I refrain from using friend, in that, we belong to a few of the same groups, but do not hang out with one another on a regular basis.
anyways, I'm trying to understand why he would do such a thing. he doesnt have a car. he has been taking public transit to work for the past 2 years. he had been trying to save up cash to eventually get a car. so why would you risk losing your job over a few dollars. granted, since we pay them by reservation based on their sales ability, it can be a huge difference pay check to pay check. but given that an agent is paid for basically doing their job, his actions mystify me.. especially since he knows that we have terminated other people for doing the same exact thing. why does he think he is smarter than them. granted, our reporting systems suck here, but we eventually catch cheaters. so now instead of making his base salary of $10.50/hr + incentive. he is now going to be making $0
of course, everytime Dad and I go out from now on we are going to hear about it. gotta love it

turns out he was already at the top level. he was just booking additional reservations to supplement what he had already earned. he was earning $3 a reservation. and was well over $1000 incentive for the period. he booked 9 fake reservations, which would have given him an additional $27 in incentive. so for that $27 dollars that he scammed, he lost a job where he was making over $1500 every two weeks in pay.
what a dumb fuck.
