Back in March/April when I had my annual review at work, my boss told me that if I did X and Y that by September I would be promoted to Director Status, which isnt alot more pay, but the bonus potential at the end of the year is greater.|
I have done X and Y, but have never received any feedback on whether I have been doing X and Y correctly and to their satisfaction. and yes, I have asked for the feedback.
A few weeks ago, I met with my boss's boss to discuss a few things. One of the things I brought up to him was the Director title. The look on his face told me that he didnt know anything about it, and then he confirmed what I had thought.
My boss is on vacation until the middle of next week, so I decided to approach HR to see if they might have any clue whether it is going to happen or not. HR didnt know anything about it.
I'm well aware of things that are going on in the company, and I'm almost 100% sure that the title change wont be approved by corporate at this time. I am fine with that. I understand that. What I dont understand is why no one else was even aware of that the title was even a possibility for me.
