To Shave or Not To Shave [Oct. 7th, 2005|08:47 pm]
Mike
My boss set me up with a headhunter today. After talking to her, she asked for my resume and suggested we get together next week.

My boss told me to shave off my goatee. He said the mustache would be ok, but the goatee had to go.

Poll #585707 To Shave or Not to Shave?

What should I do?

Shave my face completely?
0(0.0%)
Shave the goatee but leave the mustache?
2(20.0%)
Leave it as it is?
5(50.0%)
Trim it down and start growing a beard?

Just play their little games until you have a new job and then grow it back. :)

The anti-fur fascists on the loose again? I refuse to shave because that would be trying to be someone I'm not. I'll trim and mow, but clean shaven is out.

If they care that much about how I look, they're not concentrating on my skills. I feel like I wouldn't fit those groups very well.

I have never heard of facial hair being a deterrent for getting a job. I have had facial hair for years and years. The only I couldn't have facial hair was a food service job where I made food. It had to do with health laws. If you have a very different look, I would just trim and clip and look business-like. I see no reason to shave completely. Are you naturally totally bald or is that a look that you are into? Look at a typical business meeting. Most of the men have facial hair!
